Instrumental Performance
Practice makes perfect.
How tired are you of hearing that? Unfortunately, it’s true. And at Loyola, we’ll push you past perfection. Our music performance program will sharpen your skills in your preferred genre as well as challenge you to become competent in others. That way, your artistic voice is not just proficient—it’s uniquely explored, informed, and realized.
Undergraduate Degree Programs
Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance
The guitar department at Loyola offers one-on-one lessons with an accomplished professor of guitar, both in jazz and classical concentrations. At the end of each semester, guitar students perform in Classical Guitar Night, where students are able to perform collaborative and solo works.
Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Instrument Performance (Winds + Percussion)
All wind and percussion students study privately with Loyola University faculty, who are selected from the finest musicians New Orleans has to offer and are extremely active performers and educators in local, national, and international venues.
Bachelor of Music in Keyboard Performance (Piano + Organ)
The Keyboard Department offers professional training for students seeking a career in the performance and/or teaching areas. We offer many performance opportunities throughout the year in our concert halls, where we host two Steinway concert grands and a Bössendorfer imperial grand.
